MLA Devendra Fadnavis has claimed that unless MSCB house is put in order 1,873 agricultural credit cooperative societies, 572 urban cooperative banks, 31 district central cooperative banks (DCCBs) and 1,009 other cooperative institutions can land into trouble.
Most of the board members of MSCB were Congress and NCP politicians or closely affiliated to them. Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar is one of the members of the bank.
MSCB is the apex co-operative bank of the state. All the cooperative banks of the state come under its purview. Most of Nagpur's cooperative banks like Shikshak Sahakari Bank, Tirupati Urban Cooperative Bank, keep their money in this bank because it is counter guaranteed by state government. However, MSCB has a limited control over these banks.
