Medical MBBS , BDS admissions begin at GMCH Nagpur

A total of 141 forms were submitted on the first day of medical college admissions. Government Medical College (GMC) is a designated regional centre for preference form filling and counselling for Nagpur division.

Like the engineering CAP process, the directorate of medical education and research (DMER) has not started an online admission process. "The dummy form provided in the brochure needs to be filled up and submitted at the centre along with the required documents. After the document verification, the original forms are provided. They need to be filled up and submitted," said Namdev Kamdi, who is in-charge of the admission process at GMC.

The admission process is same for all government colleges in the state. Atotal of 4,000 seats are up for grabs in 60 colleges all over Maharashtra. Students from Nagpur, Akola, Washim, Amravati, Yavatmal, Wardha, Chandrapur, Bhandara and Gondia can submit their preference forms at GMC. The MBBS course of GMC has a total of 200 seats.

Of these 30 seats are reserved for AIPMT candidates and 15 seats are reserved for government nominated candidates. The remaining 155 seats are available for regional candidates. The forms are being accepted according to the State Merit List (SML) numbers. The last date for preference form submissions is July 14. The last date of form collection for physically handicapped is July 12. The allotment of seats will be declared on July 17 on the DMER website — www.dmer.org — and also at the regional centres. Notification regarding the second round of allotment of seats will be announced on the website in due course of time.
